Jane Tomlinson's York 10k - Sunday 4th August 2013
This scenic 10k run is a must for any distance runners calendar. Taking a route through the breath taking city you'll pass landmarks such as York Minster, Clifford's Tower and the famous city walls. This exciting fundraising event sees thousands of visitors and competitors descend on the city guaranteeing a fantastic atmosphere.

York Festival of Food and Drink- Friday 20th - Sunday 29th September 2013
Running for ten days this festival at the heart of York's City Centre see's visitors experiencing the best of Yorkshire's produce. Each day see's up to a hundred market stalls offering a huge range of products from chocolates and cheeses to beer and wine with something to sure to meet everyone's tastes.
This year's festival focuses on the relationship between food and science and includes events such as Chef and Scientist double acts, many "don't do this at home" experiments, ice-cream workshops and many more. Children will also be entertained with many special events designed for the younger visitor.
